Policy on Summer Internships
Doctoral candidates may be eligible for the NGP Summer Internship Program, which allows lab obligations to be placed on pause while students explore career opportunities. This is an administrative program that helps arrange university commitments for a structured break, in cooperation with the student’s PI.
Please note that the graduate program does not directly promote external opportunities for this program. Students are responsible for sourcing their own internships. Conditions apply based on multiple factors, and students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with Program Admin to discuss eligibility and next steps.
If you plan to participate in an internship, be away from your lab, work remotely, travel for an extended period, or otherwise pause regular lab activity this summer, please notify the program office and discuss the plan with your PI.
