Other Seminar Series

The Division of Biological Sciences and The Salk Institute for Biological Studies provide frequent lectures, as do many other departments and institutions in and around UCSD.

  • Biology Division Seminar Program SeriesThe UCSD Division of Biological Sciences hosts a weekly seminar series in collaboration with the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. The seminar series covers cutting edge biological research from world-renowned speakers on topics ranging from plant biology to translational medicine. The seminars are Wednesdays at 4 p.m. in the CNCB Marilyn G. Farquhar Seminar Room.
  • The Salk Institute Science Events: Salk regularly holds virtual seminars, lectures and talks by our faculty to share recent discoveries and engage with supporters and the local community.
  • Institute for Neural Computation (INC) Chalk Talks: The INC chalk talk series meets as a forum for interactive exchange on all aspects of neural computation. The purpose of these meetings is to foster the collaborative interactions between INC members and with colleagues across campus, and to stimulate new ideas and research initiatives. Each meeting features one of the core or affiliated INC faculty labs/groups, with informal presentation of late-breaking research and new research directions. The meetings are open to the community, and we encourage broad participation across campus.
  • The Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind (KIBM) at UCSD Events
  • The Diversity and Science Lecture Series (DASL) shines a light on the amazing work being done by underrepresented student and post-doctoral life science researchers at UCSD. Attend a session to hear about their cutting edge work and how their life experiences have shaped their careers and approach to science. Lectures are Wednesdays at 12 p.m. on Zoom.
