Research Description
Our research is focused on the neural mechanisms of learning. We use motor learning in eye movements as a model system to examine how cellular and molecular mechanisms of plasticity operate in the context of neural circuits to improve behavioral performance. The laboratory employs a variety of techniques to identify mechanisms by which the cerebellum controls motor learning, including behavioral analyses of eye movements in transgenic mice and cellular physiological studies in brain slices.
